The Financial Crisis: A Visual Explanation

Popout

After my posting  yesterday on 12 learning resources for understanding the current financial crisis I received an e-mail from the folks at Say It Visually! pointing out a new animation they had just posted on YouTube: Understanding The Financial Crisis–For Kids and Grownups. I checked it out, and liked it enough that is seemed worth a follow up post to note it as an additional learning resource.

I like, from a learning perspective, that it makes use of simple visuals to explain a complex issue. From a content perspective, I also like the fact that the the video explains the role of depository and investment banks as well as the way in which the changing relationship between the two contributed to the current situations.

As the title suggests, this may be good for use with kids, but many adults will find it a useful learning tool as well.
