Superstruct’s McGonigal on ARGs
By jtcobb on Nov 20, 2008 in Serious Games
Given that I recently posted on Superstruct, it seems only appropriate to point out this engaging video from Business Week featuring Superstruct creator Jane McGonigal. It’s well worth the 7 minutes or so it takes to view.
In it, Jane addresses five questions:
- What is an alternate reality game (ARG)?
- How do ARG’s help build new collaboration skills?
- Can ARG’s be built more cost-effectively than the usual high-tech, high graphic video games (very glad she addresses this one - affordability is a strong factor in favor o ARGS’s)
- How can something like Superstruct serve as a real-world tool?
- Do you still work on promotional games
Listen to it. Share it with friends and colleagues who like to think innovatively. And be sure to give Jane some points.
